Kimmie’s Bachelorette: atlantic city fix

Hi my name is Meredith and I used to write a blog. Sheesh! I can’t believe I haven’t written in so long. I feel like I have so much to share. But life is full of phases right? Happy phases, sad phases, stressful phases, we’ve all experienced them at one time or another. I feel as though I just went through a five-month crazy-busy, can’t-slow-down phase that caused my life-work-school-blog balance to become obsolete, so now I’m trying to fix it. Quite possibly the best motivator ever to fix it is having my boyfriend home. That being said, I will be back to writing more frequently soon, soon, soon!

Speaking of phases, my family is obviously going through a wedding phase right now. My sister’s wedding is 10 days away…eeeeek!  As stressful as wedding plans and preparations can be, it has been so fun to celebrate Kimmie. Two weeks ago, nine of us jet-set to Atlantic City for her bachelorette-party weekend and it was memorable. I was so excited because the bridal party includes many of my closest friends and family members, but I was also a bit nervous because I just wanted her to love everything about the weekend. Well, after dancing, laughing, drinking, celebrating & gambling  I think it is safe to say she loved it, and safe to say I have had my Atlantic City fix for awhile!

Since my sister’s bridal party members come from all over New England, it made the most sense for those of us in Northern New England to fly to Atlantic City. Obviously mimosas in Logan Airport were necessary at 7 a.m.

After our zillion modes of transportation (car, flight, shuttle, car), we finally arrived at our hotel for the weekend, Revel Resort, and scrambled to decorate Kimmie’s hotel room. A lingerie clothesline, gift bags, and lots of pink bubbly helped to spruce up the room. She loved it!

Our first night there we all wore matching “team bride” tank-tops which was a blast, and we bar-hopped in the Borgata Hotel.

We fought our hangovers the next day by way of outlet shopping, coffee consuming, gambling, board-walking, and more drinking (obviously).

Saturday night was also memorable, beginning at American Cut Steakhouse and ending at HQ nightclub. We all wore black while Kimmie wore white (and her bride-to-be-sash), along with our matching cute/obnoxious flashing rings I insisted we wear! We celebrated a birthday too (love you, Sar!) What a blast we had. The pictures say it all.

What a fun girls weekend…love these ladies! I think it’s safe to say we have all had our Atlantic City fixes for awhile Winking smileWe love you, Kimmie! As fun as the weekend was, I certainly wasn’t loving life upon our return since I had 4 finals that next week, starting on Monday. Thankfully, I got through them, with lots of help from iced coffee!
Now I am thrilled to say I am done with classes until my semester begins in September. Best.feeling.ever. Since studying is over-with, I can focus on my maid-of-honor speech, which I am starting to get a bit nervous about…help!!

Have a great rest of the week, friends : –)

Have you ever been the maid of honor or spoken at the wedding? Any tips you can share with me?

Ever been to Atlantic City? If so, where’s your favorite spot?
I loved our hotel, I’d stay there again in a heartbeat!

  1. Looks like you had such a fun weekend!

I only spoke at my own wedding for an impromptu 2 minutes to stop myself becoming a blubbering mess – and that was only because we didn’t have any speeches and chatterbox Kristy felt like she had to say something haha.

Good luck with your speech! xx

  2. That looks like SO MUCH fun! When we go to AC we actually stay on Brigantine Isalnd so it is a totally different feel from downtown. We are in wedding mode too as my brother’s wedding is 8 weeks away and it really is a GO GO GO time!

  3. Such a fun time :) Reminds me of the last Vegas bachelorette I attended!!! Never been to Atlantic City, but I hear it’s a good time. Hahah, I can’t believe you wrote a final on Monday morning! That’s pretty hilarious/amazing!
I am also scheduled to do a maid of honour speech this summer. I usually don’t mind public speaking, but I have to do it WITH another girl (who I have only met once in my life)…so it might be a bit of a challenge trying to write/prep for. I think my favourite speeches are those that are both funny and sentimental. I also dislike when people start throwing around a bunch of inside jokes that no one else understand! Have so much fun. Looking forward to hearing all about the wedding.

  4. How the hell did you get through 4 finals after that weekend?! It would take me a full week to recover. Minimum. Such a sexy little clothes line! I’ve seen that done for baby showers, but now I’m throwing it in the hat for my cousin’s wedding. Looks like you girls had a blast and sent your sister off to married life in style. Good luck with your speech! I can’t do public speaking. I specifically told my cousin not to make me her maid of honor because I didn’t want to give a speech, haha.

  5. Ha, naturally blogging takes a backseat when real life needs to come first! I love your posts, pump em out when you got time girly! :)
OMG #beautiful #gorgeous #hawttt you girls ALL look so amazing in all those gorgeous dresses and all done up! Looks like so much fun! I have always wanted to go to Atlantic City! Mimosas at 7 am are the only way to go…
Good luck with your speech this weekend! You’re going to do great!! <3
